BTC Europe obtains the ISCC PLUS certification and is expanding its portfolio to include sustainable products with a lower carbon footprint.
As "Trader with Storage", BTC Europe is now certified to offer mass-balanced products from BASF. The ISCC PLUS certification (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification), which is independent and internationally recognized, covers the entire value chain and confirms the use of renewable or recycled raw materials within the mass balance method.
To produce mass-balanced products, BASF uses alternative raw materials derived from biomass or recycled sources at the beginning of the value chain. These alternative raw materials are further processed in production and can be allocated to customer products through the mass balance approach. The mass-balanced product has the same quality and properties as conventional products but with a reduced CO2 footprint.
ISCC PLUS, along with REDcert2, is one of the two commonly used certification standards for the mass balance approach. With our portfolio of ISCC+ and REDcert2 certified product variants, we support the reduction of fossil resources and contribute to the transition to a circular economy.
