The range of mineral recovery reagents offered by BTC includes rheology additives, coagulants and flocculants. This enables us to supply the mining industry with innovative solutions for solid-liquid separation. Thickening & Clarification The unrivalled combination of products and experience in mineral extraction, hydrometallurgical thickening and clarification applications offered by BTC ensures that you get a wide range of physical shapes and molecular weights to help complement any sedimentation process with the optimal selection. Among other things, we offer highly effective liquid dispersions, inverse emulsion flocculants, flocculant blocks, flocculants in powder form and ready-to-use coagulants. The Magnafloc® series high molecular weight anionic, nonionic and cationic flocculants can be individually selected and combined for the best possible performance.
The Alclar® grades are flocculants specifically designed for high performance. Areas of application With the Magnafloc® types of BTC, thickening, clarification or centrifugation work with maximum efficiency and without support. The Alclar® grades are used to cover the drastic conditions during Bayer's aluminum extraction process. Filtration BTC's flocculants and coagulants are designed to maximize efficiency in mining filtration processes. The high molecular weight flocculants from the anionic/nonionic/cationic magnafloc® group are individually selected to increase performance. Benefits include faster and higher throughput, low moisture dry residues, efficient filtration, and pure, clear filtrate for reuse. Applications Drimax® surfactants are added to the sludge before filtration. They reduce surface tension, wet particles, promote faster dewatering and lead to low moisture content in dry residues of very fine substrates. Tailings Management
Water management places many demands on mining, especially with regard to the impact on the environment. The aim is to minimise water consumption, reduce land use due to tailings piles and the time required to rehabilitate these areas. At the same time, exploration and production must be maximized while minimizing costs.
