The Lutensol® A ... N grades are ethoxylates of linear oleochemical alcohols. They are effective wetting agents, dispersing agents, and emulsifiers. They can also be employed as the principal surfactants in detergent and cleaner formulations.
The Lutensol® AO grades are oxo alcohol ethoxylates that are based on predominately linear alcohols. Depending on their degree of ethoxylation, some of the products in the range can be used as the principal surfactants in laundry detergents in powder form. They give good results at all temperatures, and they perform especially well on cotton fabrics and blends of cotton and synthetic fibers. We would particularly recommend the Lutensol® AO grades with a medium degree of ethoxylation, such as Lutensol® AO 7, for use in liquid detergents and cleaners.
Lutensol® AT grades The Lutensol® AT grades have excellent detergency and excellent soil-dispersing capability. They are mainly employed in household, industrial, and institutional detergents and cleaners. They perform particularly well in heavy-duty laundry detergents in the medium and high temperature ranges. They also improve the flowability of detergent powders.
The Lutensol® FA grades are surfactants that are employed in the manufacture of industrial cleaners, especially acid cleaners. They can be used as emulsifiers in many applications in the chemical and allied industries, such as in textile auxiliary formulations.
The Lutensol® GD grades perform well in industrial and institutional cleaners. They are resistant to high concentrations of alkali, and their solubilizing action makes it easier to mix other surfactants into formulations of this type.
The Lutensol® M grades are nonionic surfactants. They are alkyl polyethylene glycol ethers made from a C10 C18 alcohol and ethylene oxide. Similar to Lutensol® AO grades, the Lutensol® M grades are designed to be suitable for liquid and powder detergent formulations.gradesLutensol M 5 shows advantages in laundry for fatty stains at low temperatures compared to other standard surfactants like Lutensol AO 7.
The Lutensol® ON grades are based on a branched C10 alcohol, and they are distinguished by their very pronounced surface activity. This makes them extremely effective in cleaner formulations and in industrial wetting and dispersing processes, from textile auxiliaries and microemulsions to spray cleaners.
The Lutensol® ON grades can also be used as alternatives to alkylphenol ethoxylates because their performance is similar.
The Lutensol® TO grades are distinguished by their high surface activity and they have an excellent wetting action. They provide an effective starting point for formulating all grades of detergents and cleaners, especially household products and products for industrial and institutional use. Apart from their high cleaning power, their excellent emulsifying action is also very important in many applications in the chemical and allied industries. The Lutensol® TO grades can be used as an alternative to alkylphenol ethoxylates, because their performance is quite similar.
The Lutensol® XL grades are manufactured by alkoxylating a single-branch C10 alcohol. They have an excellent wetting action and perform very well as emulsifiers. Some of the products in the range are very effective for solubilizing essential oils. Their main application is in hard-surface cleaners for household and industrial use, which profit from their quick dynamic wetting action and their good degreasing action. The Lutensol® XA grades are alkoxylates that are made from a single-branch C10 alcohol. The ethoxylation homologues are distributed within a narrow range and the surfactants have a low residual alcohol content (< 1 %). The result is that these products with a low degree of ethoxylation have a very low intrinsic odor, which makes them a very effective choice for cleaners that do not contain a fragrance or cleaners that contain expensive essential oils. The Lutensol® XL grades are also used as alternatives to alkylphenol ethoxylates on account of their similar performance.
The Lutensol® XP grades are manufactured from a single-branch C10-alcohol. They are distinguished by their high wetting power on hard surfaces. Their performance is similar to that of C9C11-alcohol ethoxylates, which makes them especially effective for use in cleaners for household use and in industrial applications in which high surface activity is required. The Lutensol® XP grades can also be used as alternatives to alkylphenol ethoxylates on account of their similar performance.
