Pluriol® A…E The Pluriol® A ... E grades are used as feedstocks in the production of comb polymers, which are employed as dispersing agents and plasticizers for concrete. Their low diol content prevents unwanted side reactions from taking place. They are also used to modify the chain length of polyurethanes. Pluriol® A…PE The Pluriol® A ... PE grades are EO/PO copolymers with a single terminal alkyl group. They are soluble in water and they have a low viscosity in spite of their high molar mass. They have an excellent lubricating action and they are nonionic, which allows them to be used in combination with anionic and cationic additives. Pluriol® A…TE The Pluriol® A...TE grades are trifunctional polyethylene glycols based on trimethylolpropane and glycerine. Each molecule contains three hydroxylgroups that are able to participate in a variety of chemical reactions, especially esterification. Triacrylic and trimethacrylic esters of the Pluriol A...TE grades can be used as crosslinking agents in the production of superabsorbers or as reactive diluents in UV-curing coatings. Pluriol A 15 TE and Pluriol A 16 TE are employed in formulations used in the textile industry, such as non wetting additives for processing cotton. Pluriol® A…R The Pluriol® A … R grades are reactive alkoxylates and diols based on allyl alcohol or butyne-1,4-diol. They can be copolymerized readily with other products. Furthermore, they are highly suitable as reactive components in addition reactions. All Pluriol® A … R grades have a low conductivity. Pluriol® BP grades Pluriol BP grades are bisphenol A alkoxylates, which are mainly used as reactive diluents in lacquers and coating formulations as well as starting material for (meth)acrylates. The variation of alkoxylation allows for the modification of the lacquer’s properties like flexibility, hardness, viscosity, and thermal stability. The special requirements of these applications are met by BASF’s products, which offer exceptional quality and purity. In addition to our broad variety of products with differing compositions, customer demands for special products can also be addressed. Pluriol® C grades These products have an excellent plasticizing action and they are therefore very effective for use as coalescent solvents and film-forming agents in the formulation of paints and binders for the coatings industry (especially industrial and automotive coatings). The potential customers are binder manufacturers and manufacturers of industrial and automotive coatings. The products are low-odor plasticizers/coalescent solvents with a low VOC content, have good compatibility with a very wide range of binders and polymers, and are virtually salt-free and non-volatile. Pluriol® E grades The Pluriol® E grades are water-soluble polyethylene glycols. The Pluriol® E grades are a very versatile range of products. Depending on their molar mass, they can be employed as solubilizers, plasticizers, binders, humectants, lubricants, dispersing agents, and mould-release agents. They can be used to modify the consistency of liquids and to impregnate materials. They can also be employed as organic intermediates in the manufacture of polyesters and polyurethanes, etc. The Pluriol® E grades are supplied in solid, paste and liquid form. The solid products can be supplied in the form of powder, flakes, or cast solids in order to suit the particular application. Pluriol® P The Pluriol® P grades can be used in a wide variety of processes in the chemical and allied industries. Depending on their molar mass, polypropylene glycols can have a foam-suppressing, lubricating, and a mould-release action. They can be converted into monoesters, diesters, ethers, acetals, and polyurethanes. They can be employed as heat-transfer fluids, refrigerants, hydraulic fluids, and solubilizers, and they can be used to modify the consistency of other liquids. They are also excellent dispersing agents for pigments.
