Polymer Modifiers
Polymer Modifiers for Flowability Improvement in Plastics Applications
BTC Europe offers various technologies to adjust the flowability of plastics. They influence the flowability and melt viscosity of plastics by either morphologic changes (accelothene® for predominately polyolefins) selective scission of the polymer chains (Irgatec® for predominately polypropylene), or chain extension and branching of polymers (Joncryl® ADR for predominately engineering plastics).
With the new additive accelothene® BTC is broadening its product range for the plastics industry. accelothene® is predominantly used in the polyolefin processing industry for injection moulding, extrusion and blow moulding. accelothene® enhances the injection moulding process, allowing the processing temperature to be reduced. This enables manufacturers of plastic goods to significantly cut the cooling time and to shorten the total cycle time. This in turn leads to energy savings and at the same time increased production capacity. Furthermore, the lower processing temperature reduces internal stress, resulting in improved end-use properties such as impact resistance.
accelothene® enhances the injection moulding process, which enables manufacturers of plastic goods
- to reduce the processing temperature,
- to significantly cut the cooling time,
- to shorten the total cycle time by up to 25%.
This in turn leads to
- energy savings,
- and at the same time increased production capacity.

Irgatec® CR 76 A is designed for the manufacture of polypropylene based non-woven applications.
The Joncyl® ADR product range is used in plastics applications for the recycling of PET, PET strapping, fibers and as compatibilizers. Joncyl® ADR products increase the recyclability; they improve the mechanical properties as well as the compatibility between fillers and various thermoplastic resins.
