Inhibitors for membrane processes and industrial process water treatment The Sokalan® CP, PA and PM types are successfully employed for scale inhibition and dispersion in membrane processes for sea water desalination. The products are also suitable for industrial process water treatment. BTC supplies a broad portfolio of low molecular weight polymers for the inhibition of potassium carbonate and other mineral scales as well as products with a higher molecular weight for the dispersion of impurities. In combination with our corrosion inhibitors and biocide formulations they can be used in all cooling water applications under all operating conditions. Boiler Water Treatment Boilers and heating systems depend on high quality feed water to ensure reliable process operation.

BTC provides a full range of boiler water treatment chemicals to help our customers to reduce their maintenance costs and improve their energy efficiency. The Irgatreat®, Antiprex® and Sokalan® types comprise antipriming, anticorrosion, cleaning and dispersing products. They are used in all boiler water treatment applications and enable plants to be operated at peak efficiency. Foam Control In many industrial processes foaming can cause problems. BTC’s Burst® defoamers enable enhanced foam prevention and control independent of the nature of the reason. Burst® foam control agents are used in all industrial processes where foaming can cause problems. Inorganic chemicals Inorganic chemicals for treatment of process water Inorganic basic chemicals develop diverse functionalities which are required in the water treatment process. Sodium Bisulfite solution 38-40% (NaHSO3) helps in the removal of excess chlorine in special cases, removal of Oxygen. Potassium Sulfite solution 45% (K2SO3) is used as reducing agent and Sodium Metabisulfite (Na2S2O5) is used in drinking water treatment to remove excess chlorine (Food grade only) and in special cases to remove oxygen from boiler feed water Inorganic chemicals for treatment of waste water Inorganic basic chemicals develop diverse functionalities which are required in the waste water treatment process and for the neutralization of chromic acid. Sodium Bisulfite solution 38-40% (NaHSO3) is used in the removal of excess chlorine in the neutralization of cyanide and Sodium Metabisulfite (Na2S2O5) is used in electroplating plants to neutralize cyanide.
